Let’s build a co-op
We are currently in our start-up phase, which means the Nashville Food Co-op needs Founding Owners to join now in order to move forward to becoming a functioning, community-owned, local grocery store.
Your founding ownership means joining the growing movement to keep our hard-earned money in the community. It means bringing fresher, healthier food options to our neighborhoods. It means acknowledging a vision of responsible, sustainable, and convenient shopping. It means helping us make the Nashville Food Co-op a reality.
Member-ownership
Co-op members democratically control the direction of the grocery store. So, in addition to shopping at the co-op, members also have a say in the business decisions the co-op makes.
Rather than rewarding outside investors with its profits, a co-op returns surplus revenue to its members in proportion to how much they use the co-op. This democratic approach results in a powerful economic force that benefits the co-op, its members, and the community it serves.
Your investment
Member-Ownership in the Nashville Food Co-op is a one-time investment of $250 per household.
